Troubled Aussie cassino operator Crown Resorts has at present filled all closing submissions with the Victorian Royal Commission, including a farther submission dated 9 August 2021; related to inquiries by Commissioner Ray Finkelstein around which areas of the Crown Melbourne complex may need to live sub-let if the casino permission was cancelled.

Crown has confirmed a demand under its Casino Management Agreement to sub-lease its Melbourne cassino coordination compound to a young cassino if its licence is revoked.

In the casino's submissions, Crown has confirmed that, as per its Casino Management Agreement, the res publica may require Crown to subsidisation a sub-lease of the “Melbourne Casino” to any unexampled casino operator.

Crown argues “cancellation of the licence followed past a requirement to sub-lease would not follow in the public interest, for the reasons referred to inwards Crown’s Closing Submissions, and would also get the real real potency to trigger events of default on under Crown’s debt facilities.”

The Victorian Royal Commission is expected to cover its findings and any recommendations past 15 Oct 2021.
